A function for managing the 100-tool magazine has been added to the ATC tool app. This offers intuitive tool changes, and tools used in machining programs can also be delivered in batches from the tool stockers to the turret magazine. The intuitive operations mean it can be introduced at a wide range of customer sites.

Tool stockers installed inside the U500Xd2-100T save space while enabling the storage of 100 tools. Despite its compact size, the U500Xd2-100T comes equipped with a large jig area that allows for rotation of 500 mm in diameter and 320 mm in height at maximum, accommodating multi-face machining of medium-sized workpieces.

The U500Xd2-100T is designed to be connected to pallet transfer automation systems and robots. It is available with a wide side shutter which opens vertically, pallet clamps, and a chip conveyor as additional options. Connecting with automation systems enables automated operations for extended period of time, further increasing productivity.

Tool center point control
Equipped with tool center point control where machining is performed by changing the direction of the tool relative to the workpiece. Optimal acceleration/deceleration with up to 1,000 block look-ahead enables simultaneous 5-axis machining.
Improved stuck chips detection function and chip evacuation prevents chip-related problems.
When changing tools, chips caught between the spindle and holder are detected without a sensor, preventing the outflow of defective products. A retry function is also included. Increasing the number of chip shower nozzles and reviewing the diameter of the piping have improved chip evacuation.
