Daise Kizuna Machining K.K. mainly produces aluminum cutting parts for semiconductor production equipment. The company got its start in 2018 with only President Takada and Vice President Toyama, and today there are 10 employees, as they steadily grow their business performance.

When asked about the company's strength, President Takada responded that they are now able to start work on high value-added products that require strict tolerances. By building up its track record in this way, the company is able to receive a wide range of orders from mass production projects to new startup projects.

President Yasuhira of Yasuhira Machine Tool, Inc., which provides production equipment support, understands the difficulty of starting a manufacturing business in this day and age and mentioned that Daise Kizuna Machining has a solid track record and a high level of machining technology.

Introducing SPEEDIO for Its Track Record and Cost Performance

Daise Kizuna Machining currently operates three SPEEDIO units. To match the factory's interior, the company specified that the units have a black coloring instead of the standard SPEEDIO color. The result is a very sleek look.

The first unit, the S1000X1N, was introduced in 2020. Regarding the reason for introducing this model, President Takada mentioned that they had originally operated two units from a different manufacturer but needed to increase the number of spindles to meet continued order demand. However, at the time, they had just started their second year of business and were unable to afford to spend a large amount of money on capital investment. At this point, Mr. Yasuhira proposed introducing SPEEDIO.

According to Mr. Yasuhira, SPEEDIO has a proven track record with aluminum machining and strong cost performance. While other manufacturers also offer similar models, SPEEDIO comes in a diverse number of models. For that reason, Mr. Yasuhira believed SPEEDIO would be a good fit for the company.

President Takada mentioned that, compared to products from other manufacturers, SPEEDIO's cost is less than half. It is very attractive to add an extra spindle at this price. Because of the low price, he honestly thought the performance would be commensurate with that.

However, his impression became more favorable after machining with SPEEDIO. "The target dimensions were precisely achieved. Therefore, we transferred the process for general tolerance products to the S1000X1N and tried to set it up, and the dimensions from the existing machine came out exactly the same. This was unexpected."

Combining SPEEDIO with Advanced Machining Technology for Precision

In June 2022, Daise Kizuna Machining introduced two pallets of the R650X2 with the aim of increasing efficiency. In October, the company introduced the S700Xd1.

President Takada discussed his impressions of the S700Xd1. "We had a product made of A6061 material that required strict flatness, and when we set it up, we achieved a flatness of 7/1000. With the BT30 machine, we could aim for a flatness in the 1/1000 range. We genuinely felt that we had done a good job, and at the same time, we were honestly impressed with Brother SPEEDIO."

Mr. Yasuhira followed up by saying that as a trading company, he would not normally propose SPEEDIO when asked to create a flatness of 7/1000. However, it is possible by Daise Kizuna Machining, considering their track record.

A Turning Point to Come in the Near Future

President Takada mentioned that when introducing equipment, unestimated costs, such as transportation costs, will arise outside the cost of the equipment. However, with the compact SPEEDIO, those costs could be reduced, making it easier to implement for Daise Kizuna Machining as a newly independent company with limited capital.

Going forward, the semiconductor industry is expected to grow further, and the company plans to expand its factory space and increase equipment in the near future. President Takada foresees this as the last big turning point for the company. Mr. Yasuhira, who watches from the sidelines, is very excited for the future of the company.

In fact, President Takada originally wanted to start up a business in a different industry. He was invited to work in sales in the manufacturing industry, and he thought it would be good experience. He found the industry fascinating and ended up immersed in it.
