In 1996, Masaru Tatsubo founded M's Corporation, a company that produced prototype models with a single engraving machine. Initially, the company was contracted to create display models for home appliances and miscellaneous goods for exhibitions, such as by bending resin with wooden molds and machining with an engraving machine, and expanded its user base.

Since then, there has been a demand for machined materials, such as resin and metal, to be closer to the final product. Now the company is able to handle a variety of materials, including aluminum, magnesium, zinc die casting, and stainless steel, and it has accumulated equipment and human resources for cutting.

About 15 years ago, the company took the lead in starting a contract-based business for additive modeling work using stereolithography and powder-based modeling. M's Corporation has expanded its corporate activities based on the principle of bringing all kinds of ideas to life, such as simple mold manufacturing used for mass production prototyping of small lots and precision sheet metal machining.

Taking on the Challenge of Incorporating a Wide Range of Materials and Machining Technologies

The company's recent business expansion is supported by cutting, additive manufacturing, and the ability to propose additional services.
As the number of automotive-related prototype projects increased, the company established offices and factories in 2011 in Tokyo (now located in Funabashi, Chiba Prefecture), where users are concentrated, and in 2013 in the Tokai area (Minami Ward, Hamamatsu).
According to President Tatsubo, by setting up businesses close to the user, they were able to coordinate detailed advance meetings and meet short delivery times. Meanwhile, the headquarters received a variety of different orders. It accepted orders for colored anatomical organ models, surgical training models, and other medical equipment-related prototypes. The company also received orders from universities for teaching material products and robot parts.

The Company's Strength Lies in Its Jig Production Speed and Ability to Create Machining Procedures

The company has a target delivery time of one week after the data is obtained. Even when modeling from the design stage, it aims to complete it within 10 to 20 days. For relatively simple cutting, orders received in the morning can be delivered in the evening depending on machine availability.
The company's expertise and technical capabilities include creating jigs and machining process procedures that are optimally assembled for each workpiece.
According to Director Katsuki Hazama, automotive-related prototypes require precision machining to the thousandth of a millimeter to match the data, and the shapes are also complex. To machine this efficiently, optimal jigs are indispensable. In analyzing the strengths of the company, Mr. Hazama concluded by saying that some workpieces require 15 to 20 changeovers, and the company's expertise lies in its jig production speed and ability to create machining procedures.
