Founded in 2008, M/s Future Tech Engineering LLP is located in the Peenya Industrial Area of Bengaluru, Karnataka.

Founded in 2008 by engineering partners Abhay, Kamal and Madhav, Future Tech began with a focus on CAM programming, process methodology and cycle-time improvement. Backed by strong Tool and Die Making expertise and experience across automotive, machine tools and cutting tools, the founders built the company on a solid technical foundation.

Starting from a modest 1,500 sq ft facility, Future Tech entered the aerospace sector in 2009 and gradually evolved into a specialist in high-precision machining. Today, aerospace contributes to more than 90% of the company’s business, reflecting its strong capability and focus in this demanding segment.

Fast delivery played a key role in Future Tech’s decision. After securing a new aerospace program, the company had only around four and a half months to prepare for production. Brother committed to delivering the machine within that timeframe — and did so as promised. According to Abhay, the machine arrived on schedule, installation was smooth, and Brother’s engineers were on site within 48 hours. The installation was completed in around four days, and within roughly a week, the machine was up and running in production.

For a company working to demanding aerospace deadlines, this rapid commissioning made a meaningful difference. Future Tech also valued the technical support provided by Brother before and after installation, particularly in helping implement the machine parameters required for the application.

As part of the evaluation process, future tech began discussions with brother, a brand the team already knew well from the market. Kamal noted that brother’s technical team made a strong impression from the beginning and also offered a live test cut to demonstrate the machine’s capability.

To validate the solution, future tech took an actual customer part to brother’s Bangalore showroom, where the team carried out a trial cut followed by inspection. The results confirmed that the machine met all the required parameters, including cycle time, surface finish and GD&T requirements. Based on this successful test evaluation, future tech decided to purchase one brother machine and move forward with the project.

Since installation, the company has been pleased with both the machine and the support received. Looking ahead, Kamal said future tech expects to continue working with brother as production volumes increase. The machine’s performance has also encouraged the company to consider using 5-axis machining not just for selected operations, but for complete parts from roughing through to finishing, allowing it to fully benefit from the machine’s dynamics and productivity.

The Brother SPEEDIO U500Xd2-5AX was put to work machining complex lower aircraft parts that required true 5-axis simultaneous cutting. These components featured undercuts and grooves, with surface finish and dimensional tolerances that had to be achieved directly on the machine, without any secondary manual intervention.

Future Tech had high expectations for the machine, and the results quickly confirmed its capability. The parts were produced right first time, with the Brother SPEEDIO delivering the required surface finish, dimensional accuracy and process consistency. According to Abhay, the production outcome reinforced the team’s confidence in the machine for demanding aerospace applications.

Since installing the Brother machine, Future Tech has achieved clear productivity gains across its machining operations. Abhay reported improved cycle times, better surface finish, higher machining accuracy and strong spindle performance. The machine has also proved highly reliable, with no major downtime issues and no significant complaints from operators or supervisors during the first six to seven months of operation.

Cost efficiency has been another important advantage. When compared with machines of similar size and capability, Future Tech found Brother to be highly competitive commercially. Power consumption also stood out as a significant benefit, with Abhay noting that the Brother machine requires around 9.5 KVA of connected power, compared with approximately 24 KVA for another 5-axis positional machine in the company’s experience.
